Tips & strategy
- Start with big numbers: on a 10-wide line, a 7 forces the middle 4 cells whatever the position.
- Lines whose numbers plus gaps fill the whole length are fully determined — do them first.
- A 0 (or no number) means the whole line is empty: mark it ✕ right away.
- Mark ✕ generously; knowing where blocks cannot go is as useful as knowing where they are.
Frequently asked questions
Is guessing ever required?
No. Every Pixel puzzle is checked by a line-by-line logic solver before publication; if it needed guessing, it would not be published.
What is this puzzle called elsewhere?
Nonogram, Picross, Griddlers, Hanjie or paint-by-numbers. The rules are the same.
Why did a number turn grey?
The blocks in that row or column match its numbers exactly. It does not mean every cell is final — check the crossing lines.
Are the pictures real drawings?
They are generated shapes, not artwork; the point is the logic. Every one has a single solution.
At midnight UTC, each game gets a new numbered puzzle (#1 was September 22, 2026). Everyone gets the same one, so you can compare times with friends. The archive lets you play any past day.
